By and For Inland NW Writers

Looking back at the last year I realize that I have accomplished a lot.  However, it seems that my year was full of road blocks and dead ends.  My job kept me so busy and exhausted that I didn't have time to think, let alone focus on my writing.  In December I switched jobs which has had an amazing effect on my writing and I am steadily moving forward.  I have more time to think, create, and plan.  I just hope that this move was wise.  I have been planning to attend the INWG meeting at Auntie's since 2011, it always seemed that something else was more important; a meeting for work, something at the kid's schools, or life got so busy I forgot (even when it was written on the calender).  I have little support from my spouse and less from my daughter; but still I plug along.

My writing journey has been long and private.  It has been a struggle to prove to myself that I can do it; that my family's doubts are just theirs and do not need to be mine.  I have finally decided that my writing is going to take me places and it is up to me where that might be.  So just putting it out there to all those here who might support and encourage me in hopes that what I lack at home I can get from fellow writers in the area.  I hope that by becoming active in this group, instead of admiring from afar silently, I will find the inspiration and Knowlege I need to finally find success, if not fame.

So anyone out there want to be my writing buddy?  I write mostly children's books, both picture books, and novels.  I am currently working on a fantasy novel, illustrations for a picture book, and creating querys and submissions for the books that I have already created.  I have so much more I plan to do this year and would like a companion to bounce ideas off of who would ask for my advice as well.  I would like this person to be excited about their writing journey, as I am about mine, and be willing to provide editing in exchange for editing services.  My weakness is in my grammer and punctuation so someone who is strong in that area would be a plus.  I feel my strength in writing is my creativity and vision for a finished book.

So if you are interested please let me know.  :)

Kathy, I have similar concerns and I'd be happy to play the role of writing partner. I find it useful to exchange critiques. I'm not an expert, however, I consider myself pretty good with basic grammar, word usage, and spelling, and I rather enjoy reading other's work as well as getting feedback on my own work.

Oh, but there is room for more than one writing partner - the more the merrier.  :)

I agree, a group of people working together to edit each other's work makes for more opinions to consider and more eyes to catch the little things.  :)
