Face in the Mirror

By:

JD Allen

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Do you see the place where I used to be?

Or do you see those days of futures past?

Or things that just didn't last?

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Is that a gray hair or maybe three?

Do you see smooth skin or wrinkles to be?

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Do you just stand and stare?

Remembering when I used to run my fingers thru your hair?

Do you stand there and cry?

Remembering good times gone by?

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Do you stand there feeling lost and alone?

Cause you gave your love to someone else and tossed me from your home?

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Now that he is gone and you are free.

Do you wish us together and things the way they used to be?

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Nice, poem, Jonathan. It's very evocative and obviously quite personal. Thanks for sharing! Linda
