By and For Inland NW Writers
Hello, Writers All!
The Thanksgiving holiday season always stimulates the old memory cells, so it seems fitting for us to talk about a particular part of the writing/publishing world suited to memories of the past. We will not have a speaker this month, but I expect this to be an interesting discussion of: PERSONAL MEMOIR, AUTOBIOGRAPHY, BIOGRAPHY and HISTORICAL ESSAY.
Frankie Doodle’s Restaurant, 3rd & Division, Spokane, WA
5:30 to 6 – Social visiting/eating – meet and greet
6 to 7 or 7:30 – meeting
We had discussed getting together a week early, but I was unable to arrange for the facilities and so I hope at least some of you will be able to join me on the 21st for what I think will be a good meeting. We will not have a speaker this time, but I would like to ask that you bring 2-3 pages (double spaced) of your work to read IF YOU ARE WRITING SOMETHING IN THE CHOSEN TOPIC FOR THE NIGHT. This will not include fiction or any other nonfiction writing. As you come to the meeting, I will ask if you brought something to read and we will draw from this list as time allows during the evening, and include some verbal critiquing if requested.
Although not yet finalized, I hope that in December we will hear from some of our fiction writers who may recap their NaNoWriMo experience this year and read from some of their new writing.
In case you are unable to come to the meeting this Wednesday, I will wish you an early Happy Thanksgiving!
