By and For Inland NW Writers
This month’s meeting of the Inland Northwest Writers Guild will be held this upcoming Wednesday (Aug. 21) at Frankie Doodle’s, as usual. We will have our official meeting from 6:00 p.m. to approx. 7:30 p.m., depending on time for activities. You can always come earlier to get your eating out of the way before the meeting (or order and eat later) and visit with other writers who come early. I should be there by 5:00. You won’t miss any of the actual “workshop” if you arrive by 6:00.
Guest Speaker - Thalon Riordan
Thalon is an editor who works with local authors to help make their work as good as it can be. She has this to say about her approach:
“As an Editor, I firmly believe that a story is a seed planted in the heart of the author, and it grows from their fingertips to the paper. And just like a budding plant, a manuscript needs pruning. What makes a great story is great characters, and it's my goal to work with the author to develop character/reader relationships that make a story stand out.”

Workshop Activity: “I would like it if everyone brought a scene from their current project where their main protagonist is being introduced.”
I look forward to seeing everyone Wednesday. May your next few days go well.
